Privacy policy

The short version

DealHunt collects only what the product needs: a free account (email, name, password hash) and the hunts, watchlist, and reminders you create with it. We run no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no payment processing — there is nothing to buy.

What we process

• Your account. Your email address, name, and a bcrypt hash of your password (never the password itself). Signing in with Google (where offered) shares your name, email, and avatar from Google instead.
• Your data. Saved searches, your watchlist, and the reminder schedule derived from it — stored so they sync between your phone and the web. Search requests pass through our server to eBay (that's how live results work) together with a random device identifier used solely for fair-use rate limits; it is never joined to any other data.
• Emails. Account emails (verification, password reset) and auction-ending reminder emails are delivered through Resend, our email provider. Unwatch a listing and its reminders stop.
• eBay links. Listing links open on eBay and carry eBay Partner Network tracking parameters; qualifying purchases may earn us a commission. What eBay does on its own pages is governed by eBay's privacy policy.

What we don't do

No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics SDKs, no in-app purchases or payment processing, no selling or sharing of personal data, no data brokers. Phone notifications for watched auctions are scheduled on your device itself.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while the account exists. Deleting your account — in the app under Settings → Account, or at the delete-account page on this site — permanently removes your account and all synced data from our servers, immediately. Rate-limit entries expire within 24 hours; sent-reminder records are purged after 30 days.
